Research

My research interests are primarily in the development of methodology the syntheses of natural products and also in the area of the synthesis of carbohydrates and their analogues.  On-going research projects are:

• Structure, synthesis and biological activity of phosphatidylinositol mannosides from mycobacterium tuberculosis
• Total synthesis of the angucycline antibiotics
• Carbohydrate mimetics
• Enzymatic trans-glycosylation reactions
